On the Horizon

This fiber "mural" was created as a companion piece to "My Roots Are Deeper Than They Can Dig". It depicts the Massachusetts state soil profile, the Paxton, and it can hang as a contextual backdrop to that piece or be experienced on its own.
The title is a play on the fact that different layers in soil composition are known as “horizons.”
Much like “"My Roots Are Deeper Than They Can Dig," this work reveals a world that is always there, but usually invisible to us.
